Avokia Secures $7.4M in Second Round Funding
TORONTO, ONTARIO - Jan. 23, 2006 - Avokia Inc., whose software makes fast 24/7 business a reality for businesses and customers by enabling the continuous availability of database information today, announced it has secured a second round of venture funding, led by Globespan Capital Partners, of $7.4 million. SAP Ventures, a division of SAP AG, also participated in the round which included original investors Ventures West and BDC Venture Capital. The company also announced it will demonstrate its technology at the prestigious DEMO Conference taking place February 6-8 in Phoenix, Arizona. "We see tremendous opportunities for Avokia's products in the market," said Dave Fachetti, Managing Director, Globespan Capital Partners. "Large companies today succeed or fail on the effectiveness of their business applications. Avokia's ability to ensure those applications are always available and always fast is greatly needed in today's marketplace." Avokia met all of Globespan's investment criteria, including experienced management, a large market opportunity, superior and innovative technologies, the ability to become market leaders, and a unique and sustainable business model, according to Fachetti.
