- Will Focus on IT and Communications Investments in Ottawa and Capital Region
Ottawa, ON - January 30, 2007 - Ventures West, one of Canada's largest private venture capital management companies, is pleased to announce that Robin Axon has been named Partner. Robin will be responsible for evaluating and managing Ventures West IT and Communications investments in the Ottawa and Capital Region.

Robin currently serves as a Director of AudienceView Software and Chairman of Instrumar Limited.
Prior to joining Ventures West in 2001, Robin was at MD Robotics (formerly Spar Aerospace) and the Canadian Space Agency where he helped to prepare the Canadarm2 for installation onto the International Space Station.
Robin holds a B.A.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Queen's University.
In 2006, Ventures West invested over $43 million in early stage technology companies including BelAir Networks, Dabble DB, TIR Systems and Macrogenics.
