TORONTO, September 13, 2005 - Ventures West Capital Ltd., one of Canada’s largest private venture capital fund management companies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ted Anderson as President. In this role, Ted will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the firm, and will spearhead the formation of new funds.
Mr. Anderson has been a partner with Ventures West since 1996. He is a veteran of the Canadian venture capital industry with over 20 years experience in private equity investing. He is a past President and former director of the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, and has served as a Director of a number of private and public companies in Canada and the U.S.

Mr. Anderson currently serves as a Director of AudienceView Software, Databeacon Inc., Fortiva Inc., Fresco Microchip, Intelligent Photonic Controls Corp., Sibercore Technologies Incorporated, and Triversity Inc. He holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
Mr. Anderson succeeds Dr. Robin Louis, who has served as Ventures West’s President since 1999. Dr. Louis will remain with Ventures West as Chairman of the firm and will focus his efforts on managing current portfolio investments and evaluating new investment opportunities.
