Dan Giampuzzi joined Ventures West in 2007 and is involved in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities in the life sciences sector.

Mr. Giampuzzi most recently served as President and CEO of Gemin X Biotechnologies Inc., a Montreal/Philadelphia-based private biotechnology company that specializes in the discovery and development of novel small molecule cancer therapeutics based on the regulation of apoptosis, the body's natural ability to destroy injured or damaged cells. During his nine years at Gemin X, he successfully raised over $100 million in private venture capital financing from international firms and assembled a highly capable team that has put over 12 cancer drugs into the clinic and currently has six drugs on the market. Previous to Gemin X he worked in senior management roles for such organizations as MDS Capital Corp., Searle Canada Inc. and Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals.

Dan earned a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from the University of Toronto.
