6N Silicon Announces New CEO
January 29, 2008 -- Mississauga, Ontario -- 6N Silicon Inc., a supplier of true solar grade silicon for the photovoltaic industry, has hired metallurgical industry veteran Paolo Maccario as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Maccario has also been appointed as a Member of the 6N Silicon Board of Directors. With a 22 years career in the metallurgical and automotive sectors, including twelve years of CEO experience in the light alloys industry, Paolo brings considerable executive experience to 6N Silicon. Most recently, Paolo was the CEO and President of Meridian Technologies Inc., the world’s largest supplier of magnesium components and assemblies to the automotive industry and one of the top 200 companies and best 100 employers in Canada. Paolo oversaw Meridian’s eighteen manufacturing, engineering and commercial facilities in North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to running Meridian, Paolo was the CEO and President of Teksid Aluminum Foundry, a supplier of aluminum castings to the US automotive industry. In addition to his role at 6N Silicon, since 2001 Mr. Maccario has been the President of Team Italia (the association of Italian Companies and their executives in Canada), and serves on the Board of Visitors of Wayne University and on the Advisory Council of Western Engineering at the University of Western Ontario.
